You can’t edit or delete a post. That was a very surprising revelation as you can in plenty of forums. I figured it would be easy. So I googled ‘how to edit wordpress.org forum post’. Nothing. Lots of people asking for it. Lots of moderators saying no. So I figured, ok they don’t want people editing it, but they have to allow deleting. Googled ‘how to delete wordpress.org forum posts’. Nothing. Of course I found that WordPress states plainly that they don’t remove or edit posts in their giant forum welcome doc that no one reads.

The only way to get a post deleted or changed it to tag it ‘modlook’. The moderators will then look at it and they have the only decision if they will modify or delete. So you are at the mercy of the moderators to see if they will help you.

How to edit or delete WordPress Plugin Review

There is one bright spot. You can edit a plugin review. You can’t delete it, but you can edit it. They probably did this to calm furious developers when someone made a mistaken review of their plugin.

However, it is extremely hard to figure out how to do it. I found the method after lots of googling. If you add ‘#postform’ to the end of the Plugin URL it will allow you to edit your post. For example if you are trying to change your review SumoMe you would take the URL: ‘https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/sumome’ and add #postform on the end. ‘https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/sumome#postform’.

If I had 2 suggestions for WordPress (let’s be honest, they don’t care 🙂 it would be to add an ‘Edit’ button to plugin reviews. Also add a warning to the forum text entry area that ‘You can’t edit or delete what you write. Be careful’.

FYI: You can’t delete or edit a WordPress.org forum post
